Abstract

The material is dedicated to the famous Russian Byzantine historian and methodologist of science K.V. Khvostova. Kseniia Vladimirovna was a doctor of historical sciences, chief researcher and head of the Center for Problems of Historical Knowledge at the Institute of World History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, responsible editor of the festschrift “The Problems of Historical Knowledge”. She was the author of 7 monographs and more than 200 scientific publications. Her scientific heritage requires continued study and effectuation in modern historical science.

2 27 мая 2021 г. российское и мировое сообщество историков потеряло замечательного исследователя и прекрасного человека, Ксению Владимировну Хвостову. Она родилась в 1934 году в Москве, на Рождественке, в семье академика Владимира Михайловича Хвостова (1905–1972), историка Германии Нового времени, ученого-международника и дипломата. Ее дед, Михаил Михайлович Хвостов (1872–1920), был известным историком-антиковедом, приват-доцентом Московского и профессором Казанского и Томского университетов. Брат деда, философ и социолог Вениамин Михайлович Хвостов (1868–1920), — русский философ и социолог, профессор римского права Московского университета. Ксения Владимировна стала продолжательницей семейной традиции и также связала свой жизненный путь с исторической наукой. Областью ее научных интересов стала Византия — особая цивилизация, соединившая в себе дух Античности и новые, средневековые формы организации общественной жизни.
3 После окончания исторического факультета МГУ в 1957 г. К.В. Хвостова начала работать в Институте истории АН СССР, с которым оказалась связанной вся ее профессиональная деятельность и где она долгие годы руководила Центром «Проблемы исторического познания». В это время появляются первые публикации молодого ученого [1-10]. В 1965 г. она защитила в Институте славяноведения и балканистики АН СССР кандидатскую диссертацию на тему «Особенности аграрно-правовых отношений в поздней Византии», выполненную под научным руководством З.В. Удальцовой [11]. Первая монография К.В. Хвостовой, выпущенная в 1968 г. на основе кандидатской диссертации, выделялась использованием новых методологических подходов, включающих приемы количественного анализа данных экономической истории Византии с применением новейшей вычислительной техники [16]. Представленные в работе результаты обогатили наши знания в области поздневизантийских аграрно-правовых отношений.
4 С целью усовершенствования и модернизации методологии исторических исследований Ксения Владимировна занялась углубленным изучением точных математических методов и заочно окончила математическое отделение экономического факультета МГУ (1972). Уникальное сочетание профессионализма в области истории Византии и высокой компетенции в области точных наук позволили ей создать поистине новаторское исследование — «Количественный подход в средневековой социально-экономической истории», опубликованное в 1980 г. Эта работа, ставшая на сегодняшний день классической, на широком историческом материале убедительно демонстрировала продуктивность эмпирического применения методов квантитативной истории [26]. Материалы монографии стали основой её докторской диссертации «Теоретико-количественный подход в средневековой социально-экономической истории (на византийском материале)» [27], защищенной в Институте славяноведения и балканистики в 1981 г. В последующий период творческие интересы Ксении Владимировны органично развивались из сферы экономической проблематики в область идеологии и социального менталитета [28-64]. Закономерным итогом её исследований стала опубликованная в 1992 году монография «Социально-экономические процессы в Византии и их понимание византийцами-современниками» [65].
5 С 1988 по 1995 год К.В. Хвостова была членом редколлегии «Византийского временника», при этом в 1989–1995 гг. она выполняла обязанности ответственного секретаря редакции. С 1996 г. до самой своей кончины она состояла в международном редакционном совете журнала. С 1959 г. в этом ведущем печатном органе отечественных византинистов регулярно публиковались ее статьи.
6 В 90-х годах Ксению Владимировну увлекли вопросы разработки теоретико-методологических проблем исторической науки. Энциклопедичность знаний, широта взглядов, глубина анализа характеризуют работы, подготовленные ею совместно с доктором технических наук В.К. Финном. Учебное пособие «Гносеологические и логические проблемы исторической науки» (1995) показывало, с учетом новейших тенденций, открывающиеся возможности применения процедур и подходов, объединяющих методологию информатики, системологии, формальной логики, количественного анализа, моделирования и концепций искусственного интеллекта [70]. В работе «Проблемы исторического познания в свете современных междисциплинарных исследований» (1997), выполненной на основе предыдущей книги, предпринята попытка рассмотрения исторической науки в качестве системы междисциплинарного гуманитарно-общественного знания [75]. Здесь авторы вводят читателя в мир комплексного понимания истории как сокровищницы всех интеллектуальных достижений человечества: от античных и средневековых философских традиций вплоть до современных трансдисциплинарных концепций. Статьи К.В. Хвостовой этого периода — «К вопросу об историческом познании» (1993), «Об особенностях современного исторического познания» (1996), «История: проблемы познания» (1997), «Современная эпистемологическая парадигма в исторической науке» (2000) — посвящены интеграции подходов современной гносеологии в методологию исторической науки [66; 73; 74; 79].
7 2000-е годы стали важным этапом в научно-организаторской деятельности Ксении Владимировны: он возглавила Центр «Проблемы исторического познания» в Институте всеобщей истории РАН. Основным направлением научной деятельности Центра стала разработка актуальных теоретико-методологических проблем исторической науки. Результаты исследований отечественных ученых в этом важном направлении аккумулировались на страницах издаваемого под редакцией К.В. Хвостовой с 2002 по 2016 гг. сборника «Проблемы исторического познания» [84; 105; 113; 118; 122; 125; 130; 135; 138; 145].
8 Итогом многолетних исследований К.В. Хвостовой в области византиноведения, теории цивилизации и методологии истории стали две фундаментальные монографии — «Особенности Византийской цивилизации» (2005) [95], удостоенная премии им. Н.И. Кареева, и «Византийская цивилизация как историческая парадигма» (2009) [115]. Эти интереснейшие работы содержат широкую панораму истории развития византийской цивилизации, обладавшей уникальными чертами, отличающими ее от средневекового Запада. По мнению Ксении Владимировны, специфика византийской цивилизации проявлялась и самовоспроизводилась во времени в первую очередь как симбиоз Церкви и государства, сакрализация общественно-политического пространства с конституирующей ролью восточнохристианского богословия. Восточнохристианский мировоззренческий опыт, с его концептами космического всеединства, божественных логосов, нетварных энергий и богочеловеческой синергии, становится актуальным на современном этапе развития мировой философской мысли.
9 С середины 2000-х годов К.В. Хвостова обращается к широкому спектру теоретических вопросов современной методологии и философии исторического знания. Эта общирность тематики отражается в названиях ее работ: «Постмодернизм, синергетика и современная историческая наука» (2006), «Актуальные проблемы исторического познания» (2008), «Проблемы соотношения исторического и естественнонаучного знаний» (2009), «Общая эволюция и пространственно-временные тенденции» (2010), «Проблема истины и объективности в исторической науке» (2011), «Современные метатеоретические проблемы исторического знания» (2012), «Современная неклассическая научная парадигма и историческая наука» (2014), «История и теория: Актуальные проблемы современной эпистемологии и методологии истории» (2017), «Трансдисциплинарность в историческом знании» (2018), «Место исторической науки в системе современного знания» (2019), «Общее и конкретное в современном историческом знании» (2020), «Малая событийность и трансдисциплинарность» (2021) и др. [96-114; 116-160] В этих работах зрелого ученого затрагиваются самые сложные и глубинные вопросы методологии исторической науки: историческая объективность и истина, соотношения исторического и естественно-научного знаний, особенности длительного и короткого исторического времени, комплексные пространственно-временные тенденции, общество как сложная нелинейная динамическая система, выявляются характерные черты исторической трансдисциплинарности. Автор анализирует проблемы исторической аргументации и нарратива, герменевтики и интерпретации, субъективных, мотивационных, семантических, аксиологических и целеориентируемых факторов в истории. Для иллюстрации черт исторической трансдисциплинарности автор во многих работах обращается к своей личной исследовательской практике на примерах из византийской истории.
10 Весомый вклад Ксения Владимировна внесла в становление и развитие нашего журнала. С момента его замысла в 2019 году она участвовала в работе редакции, щедро делилась опытом, мыслями, задумками, интересовалась процессом подготовки первого выпуска. Научно-методологическое наследие Ксении Владимировны требует еще своего длительного и глубокого осмысления. Лучшим памятником яркому ученому станет продолжение её научных исследований и благодарная наша память.
